Haddon Rig Merino has won a state award for our Dry-Aged Merino lamb product.
The full list of the 2019 Delicious Produce Awards State Winners were revealed last week with HADDON RIG receiving an award in the Paddock category.
Last week, Judges meeting to taste their way through the crop of predominantly primary produce industry-nominated entries. Haddon Rig will now go through as a State Winner to the national judging phase.
Haddon Rig is very proud of our new dry-aged product, and are thrilled to see its expansion into more restaurants and distributors. This award recognises the integrity with which our lamb is produced and supplied as well as the delicious taste and quality it has as a premium meat.

The delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards State Judging Panel consists of 26 Australian food leaders who all dedicate their time to support the best Australian producers and drive innovation in the industry. New to the State Judging Panel for 2019 were Josh Niland (NSW), Brent Savage (NSW) and Karena Armstrong (SA).
Victorian State Judge Paul Wilson said:
“The innovation across native and locally grown foods by entries in the From the Earth category made me proud to be a part of Australian food culture, and some of the entries in the From the Paddock category set new standards demonstrating impeccable farming and treatment of livestock.”
The State Winners’ produce will now be blind-tasted by the National Judging Panel who decide the overall category winners, revealed at a special event in Sydney on 19 August along with additional awards judged by the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards Critics Panel, including: Producer of the Year; Best New Product; In the Bottle; Outstanding Viticulturist; Outstanding Region; Outstanding Farmers’ Market; Outstanding Innovation; Outstanding Design; the Maggie Beer Award for Outstanding Contribution to Australian Food; the Unearthed Next Gen Chef Award; Outstanding Native Producer; and Outstanding Artisan.
