A massive 193 rams sold at auction for the first time in decades for Haddon Rig stud, Warren, on September 13th and averaged $2529.
A total of 145 Merino rams topped at $9000 to average $2638 while 48 Poll Merino rams sold to $5500 and averaged $2161.
Long-standing client Tony and Rhonda Milgate, “Rockvale”, Trundle, paid the $9000 top money for a 17.7 micron ram by Wanganella130750 weighing 115 kilograms.
Top-priced Poll Merino at $5500 was a 120kg son of HR13 0007 with 21.9 micron wool purchased by the Sweeney family, “Pinehurst”, Merrygoen, for use in their self-replacing Merino flock which produces ewes for joining with the Bindaree Border Leicester stud rams for first cross ewe production.
This very successful sale attracted many established clients some some new buyers as well.
